Declan McWhirter

Declan plays a pivotal role at Ciesco, supporting the seamless execution of transactions for clients across the Creative, Media and Marketing sectors. Drawing from his background in corporate finance and financial due diligence for private equity and corporate clients, Declan brings a commercially focused lens to M&A advisory, with deep experience helping clients navigate buy-side, sell-side and capital raising transactions.

Before joining Ciesco, Declan was part of CFGI’s Transaction Advisory Services team, where he delivered commercially focused financial due diligence services for private equity and corporate clients across Europe and the US. His experience spanned industries such as Technology, Media and Business Services, where his insights added significant value to client decision making throughout the deal lifecycle. Declan developed his foundations in corporate finance during his time at PwC Australia in the Mergers and Acquisitions team, where he advised middle-market private enterprises on strategic acquisitions and divestments.

In addition to deal execution, Declan is heavily involved in Ciesco’s Origination and Market Intelligence efforts, with a specific focus on the Creative, Media and Marketing sectors. His sector knowledge and analytical expertise support the firm’s continued growth and strengthens its position as a leading corporate finance advisor in these dynamic industries.

Declan holds a Bachelor of Business in Economics and Finance from Queensland University of Technology and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance from Kaplan Professional.
